Columbia Public Schools Lottery Application  CPS



Update 3/17/2020: Guardians: Due to the district closure, you can apply for the lottery without tours and then request a tour when CPS is back in session.

Things you'll need before applying for the elementary lottery:


  • Be a resident of the Columbia Public Schools District for the upcoming school year.
  • Visit the school to which you're applying.
  • Register your child at their home school.
  • Know your child's Columbia Public Schools Student ID.
  • For students not currently enrolled in Columbia Public Schools, please pre-enroll in your attendance area school to obtain a student number.
  • Have your current, valid email adddress on file in our student information system. Check the email address on file here.

  • I have read the rules and guidelines

Enter your CPS issued Guardian ID, password and your child's student ID below to begin the application process.





For families with multiple children registering for kindergarten (i.e. same grade twins, triplets, etc.), the family will have the option to put all of the children on one application. Should the family choose to select one school for one child and another school for the other child, the children will be treated as individuals and the entire application process will need to be completed for each individual child.

For families with multiple children in different grade levels, this entire application process will need to be completed for each individual child.
